Lyoto Machida chose to retire after the defeat to Mauricio Shogun at UFC-113 and gave very few interviews. However, on Thursday night, the karateka broke his silence and updated his Twitter with a message of thanks to his fans. In his text, Machida guarantees that he is well and that he will learn from the first setback of his career.

“I feel strong, I was sad about the result, but not about my performance, because I know I gave my all in my training, but that night Shogun was better and won”.
“I feel the affection of my fans, especially those from my state who received me with tributes and lots of support, saying they believe in my work”, concluded the black belt.
