“It's absurd that he can no longer fight, no longer be able to earn money and no longer be able to have a professional life because of this absurd punishment. This ended his career. It's the worst thing, right? It’s f**k”, said Kron, in an interview with the Combate channel website.
Kron's argument for criticizing the punishment is the same one used by UFC stars. Athletes caught using anabolic steroids were suspended for periods equal to or less than 12 months, while Nick, who took a drug that did not improve his performance, was banned for five years.
“Anabolic steroids can hurt, kill and need to be more attacked, fought. Guys who use 'bombs' should receive harsher sentences and it's not always like that. It's almost always just a one-year suspension. It's absurd for a 'bagulho' (marijuana) to be treated as something worse than these steroids”, he added.
Besides kron gracie, other athletes showed support and solidarity to Nick Diaz. UFC fighters aljamain sterling, Leslie Smith and Henry Cejudo They have already announced that they will not fight in Las Vegas until the punishment is reversed.
