The Nevada Athletic Commission has decided to suspend both Rousimar Toquinho as Jake Shields after all the controversies that occurred in the main fight of WSOF 22, last Saturday (1st), in Las Vegas (USA).

On that occasion, the Brazilian won controversially, once again being accused of holding back a submission for longer than necessary. Shields, angry, punched the Brazilian right after the referee's interruption, continuing the confusion.

Thus, the Nevada Commission left the two fighters temporarily suspended. According to a report from the North American website “MMA Junkie”, the matter will be discussed briefly at next week's hearing, with a final decision possibly being given next month.

Due to all the controversy, the WSOF decided to remove Toquinho's belt and suspend him from the event, also indefinitely. The organization, however, did not set a deadline to define his real punishment.
