The fight would be part of the UFC 191 schedule, in Las Vegas (USA). The contract, however, has not yet been signed, but Ultimate has already shown its intention to marry the fight.
Arlovski has won three straight since returning to the UFC, most recently against Travis Browne. As a result, the veteran was speculated to be the next to challenge the category champion, Fabricio Werdum. However, as the Brazilian is injured, Arlovski is not willing to wait until he recovers.
Mir, also a former champion of the category, is experiencing a resurgence in his career. After going through a terrible phase in the octagon, with four defeats in a row, the American recovered with style, quickly knocking out Antonio Pezão and Todd Duffee.
UFC 191 will have as its main attraction the fight between Demetrious Johnson e John Dodson, valid for the organization’s flyweight belt.
