Ronda Rousey He has preparations for his next fight, on August 1st, in full swing, but he saw his name involved in a curious situation this week. A player from the North American baseball league, Anthony Giansanti, hit on Rousey via messages on Twitter, but the fighter's mother took the lead and “clipped the wings” of the suitor.

Giansanti, 26, a Chicago Cubs player, sent a series of messages aimed at the American. In one of them, he said he had separated a special ticket so that Rousey could watch one of his games up close. In another, he asked the team's fans to help him convince her to be his date at a colleague's wedding.

Faced with the UFC champion's indifference, who didn't even respond to the flirtations, it was Rousey's mother who spoke out. AnnMaria De Mars, the first North American to become world judo champion in 1984, said that her daughter has no time for romance. “She kind of has something to do in Brazil right now,” she said, referring to the UFC 190 main event in Rio de Janeiro.

Giansanti then withdrew the invitation, but only for now. “My apologies to Ronda Rousey. Ronda, go defend your title, but then celebrate by eating a hot dog and drinking beer at a baseball game,” he joked.
