massaranduba ended up winning the split decision, despite many considering Parke superior in the three rounds played. In an interview reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”, the TUF Brasil 1 veteran acknowledged that the victory could have gone to anyone. “I thought the judges would give him the victory. I thought it could go to anyone, but I was blessed and the judges gave it to me. It could have gone either to him or to me, and they gave me the victory”, he analyzed.

Controversial or not, the result gave massaranduba his seventh victory in the UFC, the third in a row, against three defeats. Parke, in turn, suffered his second setback in a row.
