Phil Davis is close to signing a contract with Bellator, website reveals

One of the top fighters in the light heavyweight division today could be moving house very soon. According to the North American website “MMA Fighting”, Phil Davis, currently ranked seventh in the UFC category, is very close to signing a contract with Bellator.

The 30-year-old North American has been an Ultimate athlete since 2010. In the largest MMA organization on the planet, Davis had 13 fights, winning nine, losing three and with one no-contest.

In his last two fights, Davis suffered two defeats, to Anthony Johnson e Ryan bader, winning Glover Teixeira in this interval. The setback against Bader in January represented the last fight of his contract, which has not been renewed by the UFC to date.

Having a long wrestling background, Davis beat names like Alexander Gustafson, Rogério Minotouro e Lyoto Machida, as well as three other Brazilians. Currently, the current Bellator champion in the 93 kg category is Englishman Liam McGeary.
