After experiencing several problems with its cards, including the cancellation of two events, Ultimate recently adopted the policy of scheduling two belt fights for each of its events in pay-per-view (from the numbered series). Betting on this, after the cancellation of his rematch against TJ Dillashaw due to an injury to the American, the former bantamweight champion Renan Barao revealed that he dreams of coming face to face with his tormentor again at home, already trying to carve out a spot at UFC 190, which takes place in Rio in August.

“I would love to fight in Brazil, it’s a different, special flavor. I fought once for the UFC in the country and I felt a good energy, the crowd shouting, a human warmth. It would be a dream to fight for the belt in Brazil. If Dana White could do that, I would love it. It's different here than anywhere in the world, but I think it's difficult for Dillashaw to want to fight here. But if he accepted, it would be great”, said the native of Rio Grande do Norte, in an interview with the website of the “Combate” channel.

Barão also took the opportunity to explain his outburst after the announcement of Dillashaw's cut from the rematch between them. At the time, through a post on social media, the Brazilian accused his rival of running away from the fight. “He (Dillashaw) talked so much nonsense, so I put it to him so he could tune in too. He said it was going to happen and it would happen, the team said it wouldn't even happen at the beginning... I added that to just spice it up. Unfortunately it was postponed, but the moment I schedule the fight again, I will be 100% focused on my goal. I was more focused on training, because it was going to be totally different from what he was saying. I'm a jiu-jitsu black belt, not just anyone is going to submit me. I think if we had a jiu-jitsu fight he wouldn't submit me. I'm calm, I wasn't even saying much. I was training like I've never trained in my life to get in there and really come out on top. I hope he recovers as quickly as possible so we can face each other and I can prove the opposite to people who don't believe it”, he assured.

UFC 190 takes place on August 1st, at the HSBC Arena, in Rio de Janeiro (RJ). The card, which marks the Octagon's seventh visit to the Marvelous City, will be headlined by a women's bantamweight title fight between the champion Ronda Rousey and the undefeated challenger Beth Pitbull.
