Zingano cat will have a thankless mission next Saturday (28), in the main fight of UFC 184. The athlete, who seeks to win the UFC women's bantamweight division belt, will face the champion Ronda Rousey, who defeated all of her opponents in her career even before the judges made their decision.

However, Zingano, who is also undefeated in MMA, is confident that she has the necessary weapons to dethrone the champion. “In my head, I think I’m the best in the world. I have respect for Ronda, because that would make her the second best in the world”, said the challenger, in a press conference reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Zingano praised the work done by Ronda to promote women's MMA, but assured that it was her turn to win the title. “I was inspired by her style, by the path she took so that we could all be here today. I feel grateful for her, for everything she did, but other than that, this is my moment.”

Before being able to challenge for the belt, Zingano faced a turbulent trajectory in his professional and personal life. In 2013, she had secured the right to fight for the belt, but suffered an injury that took her out of action for a year and five months. During this period, she also faced the death of her husband, Brazilian Maurício Zingano, who committed suicide. Despite all this, the athlete sees herself ready to fight for the title. “I have never been so calm. I'm finally where I'm supposed to be and I'm soaking in the moment. I can’t wait for the fight,” she said.
