The long-awaited fight between Ronda Rousey e Chris Cyborg seems increasingly distant from happening. The Brazilian has given up on moving down to the bantamweight division (up to 61 kg) and should remain in her original category, the featherweight division (up to 66 kg).

Cyborg would make his debut at the weight in December, but ended up suffering an injury and being left out of the fight. Initially she had declared that the change to bantamweight would be postponed, as, in order to quickly return to active duty, she would have her next fight at featherweight. However, the Invicta champion apparently put the idea aside.

“I'm not going to fight at bantamweight anymore, just at my weight or catchweight to make the fight that everyone expects. I believe that the sacrifice has to be on both sides, as we are two champions, just at different weights”, said Cyborg, in an interview with the “Iron Lady” website.

As a result, Cyborg's possible move to the UFC seems unlikely at the moment, as the organization does not have women fighting in the 66 kg division. “I believe that regardless of anything, the UFC doesn't have my category and I'll be where I can fight. I love fighting and I will be fighting where I feel welcome, because that is the most special thing for me”, she concluded.
