The fight

Undefeated since moving down to the welterweight division, Rousimar Toquinho He showed good progress in the stand-up fight in his first movements. The Brazilian dodged Jon Fitch's attacks and connected several kicks to his rival's legs.

Despite the good start to the fight on the feet, at the end of the first turn of the clock he moved on to his specialty: the ground game. Toquinho attacked the American's legs and prepared the well-known and deadly heel hook. However, vaccinated by the blow, Fitch defended himself. Rousimar still held the key for a second after the withdrawal until the central referee entered the middle of the athletes and separated them. While Toquinho celebrated the victory, Fitch still lay in the cage for a few minutes receiving medical attention. He only managed to leave the fighting area with the help of his team.

“The feeling is indescribable. Only I know what I went through to get here. I had a lot of injuries and, today, I even fought injured just to defend the WSOF name and my belt. I'm very happy with another finish. Jiu-jitsu runs through my veins”, said the Brazilian still in the cage.

Sheymon Moraes wins on debut

In addition to Toquinho, the other Brazilian representative on the card also won an important victory. Bantamweight Sheymon Moraes had his first fight in WSOF and, despite the nervousness of his debut, he defended his unbeaten record and defeated Gabriel Solorio. in the judges' split decision.

In a very disputed duel, Sheymon had the advantage in striking, where he left a huge bruise on his rival's head.
