Strong candidate to compete for the welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg.) in the champion's first challenge Leon edwards in 2024, Belal Muhammad | lost his patience. In an interview with 'middleeasy', the fighter accused his rival of 'running away' from the clash and threatened the title holder. The combatant is going through a great phase and is awaiting the company's decision.

“I hate him (Edwards). The last time I faced someone I didn't like was Sean brady, because he talked a lot of nonsense. (…) With Leon edwards, he's trying to avoid me. He wants to minimize my achievements and say that I don't deserve it. It annoys me. (…) I'm filled with hate and I can't wait to get my hands on him. (…) I have been training for this fight for two years. My total focus has been on him. I don't think about anyone else. When I pass him, he will return to irrelevance and no one will speak his name again”, said Muhammad.

If confirmed, the clash between Muhammad and Leon edwards will mark a rematch between the athletes. In 2021, the fighters shared the octagon, but the clash ended in a 'no contest', after the Englishman's rival accused an illegal finger in the eye, which led to the end of the fight.
