Charles of the Bronx comes 'hungry' to the UFC 300. The former lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg) did not remain silent after hearing the provocations from Arman Tsarukyan, his rival on April 13th, accused the Armenian of talking a lot of 'nonsense' and asked for respect for his career in the biggest MMA organization in the world.

“People say what they want, right? If I only have that and I have 16 submissions in my UFC, I think they were all from behind, right? And I think the knockouts I have weren't knockouts, they were submissions. It's a lot of nonsense they say. They said I gave up easily, but I was knocked down, I moved forward and knocked him out. I also heard that I'm not hungry, that I don't want any more. He doesn't know how much I want to be champion again”, said Charles in an interview with 'MMA Fighting'.

Despite the hit, Do Bronx showed respect for his opponent in the UFC 300, however, left modesty aside by placing himself as number one in the lightweight division.

“He’s super tough, he’s on a good streak, etc. But we're talking about guys at the top of the division. You have to think before you say anything because you're not talking about just anyone, I'm number one in this division. I have the record for most submissions, most bonuses. If you look at my history, you will see that he is talking nonsense”, concluded the former champion.

First placed in the ranking of the group led by Islam makhachev, Charles is coming off a victory over the experienced Beneil Darius in June 2023. If he wins Arman Tsarukyan No. UFC 300, which takes place on April 13th, the former lightweight champion could get a new opportunity to fight for the belt.
