Moments after the controversial victory over Bruno Blindado at UFC Atlantic City, Chris Weidman took advantage of the press conference to send advice to Conor McGregor. Recovering from a serious injury that kept him away from the octagon for more than a season, the former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg) sent a message to the Irish star, who experienced a similar situation in 2021.

“I know he (McGregor) watched my fight. I think you learn a lot by watching my presentations. Some warnings about what you need to be prepared for: regardless of who you face, you may not be able to shoot as much as you would like. Or just understand this as your new reality. I should have worked harder and understood that there is a psychological factor when you break your leg in half like that. You need to understand that you are strong. Just watch my last fight and learn from it,” Weidman said.

A popular phenomenon in MMA, McGregor has not performed since the injury he suffered almost three years ago. Recently, the former double UFC champion admitted that he should return to action in the North American summer, which runs from June to September.

The Irishman, who revealed his plan to remain active in 2024, confirmed that the clash should be against Michael chandler.
