After debuting in the lightweight category with a victory over Naoyuki Kotani at UFC Rio 5, on October 25th, Brazilian Yan Cabral already knows what his next challenge will be in the Octagon. The Ultimate organization announced that Yan will face Russian Mairbek Taisumov at UFC on FOX 14, which takes place in Sweden in January.
At 31 years old, Yan Cabral has a professional record of 12 wins and one loss. Former participant of TUF Brasil 2, the Nova União athlete is going to his fourth fight in Ultimate and has a record of two victories and one setback in the organization. His opponent, Mairbek Taisumov, is quite experienced. The Russian has a record of 22 wins and five losses. Taisumov is coming off a victory over Marcin Bandel on October 4th.
UFC on FOX 14 takes place on January 24th at the Tele2 Arena in Stockholm, Sweden. In the main fight of the night, the first placed light heavyweight Alexander Gustafson faces the North American Anthony Johnson. In the co-main event, the veteran Dan Henderson returns to middleweight and faces the Armenian-Dutch Gegard Mousasi.
