Antoine Jaoude leaves this Wednesday (December 26th) for the United States, where he will fight for the heavyweight belt in the final of the IFL Grand Prix, on December 29th. The fighter will face Roy Nelson.
“I maintained the same training I had been doing until the last few days: training at Upper, always counting on the support of Pedro Rizzo, my brothers, Leitão and the entire team; boxing with Cesário Figueiredo; and the physical part with Pimentel. Of course, at that end I took some precautions to avoid any injuries. I’m very calm and I think it will be a good fight,” he said.
Antoine is one of three Brazilians with a chance to return with the first individual belt offered by the IFL, which usually promotes team competitions. Wagnney Fabiano and Delson Pé de Chumbo compete in other weights. The fighter is going all out for this triumph, which he considers a great achievement in his career and a great end to the year.
“It is a title that concludes my performance in the IFL this year with a flourish. I was very happy to have been chosen to compete in this GP, as my team, Condors, only came in fifth place overall”, commented Antoine, who, despite not taking the team title, emerged victorious in all races. their participation in the IFL, with four triumphs.
With a record of eight wins and two losses in MMA, his opponent, Roy Nelson, has 10 wins and two losses. The Brazilian knows what he has ahead of him.
“He's a guy who knows how to stand up, has good wrestling and knows how to play on the ground. He also has a good waistline,” she analyzed.
In addition to the desire to win the first belt offered by the organization, Jaoude hopes that all Brazilians return winners. He highlights the importance of three Tupiniquins competing for the title on the same night.
