After a troubled preparation, with the right to change opponents just a few weeks before the event, the Brazilian Mauritius Shogun had a peaceful afternoon this Friday (07) during the official weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 56, in Uberlândia. Shogun and his opponent Ovince St Preux They made weight without difficulty and had a very friendly confrontation.

The North American of Haitian descent was the first to perform on the stage set up at the Ginásio do Sabiazinho and was welcomed by the public to the sound of the now traditional chorus of “Uh, it’s going to die!”. St. Preux was amused by the audience's demonstration and, without any problems, reached the 93 kg limit for the light heavyweight category.
Soon after, it was Shogun's turn to step on the scale. Making his second consecutive fight in Brazil, the Curitiba native, who is coming off a defeat to Dan Henderson at UFC Natal in March, he was greatly missed by his fans and he reciprocated the love. Shogun needed a pound of tolerance for fights that are not worth the belt, but he easily weighed 93,4 kg and confirmed the main duel of the event this Saturday (08).
Lineker has difficulties again and loses weight for the fourth time in a row
If for Shogun, St. Preux and the other athletes on the card the official weigh-in was a mere formality, the same cannot be said for John Lineker. With a long history of problems gaining weight, “Mãos de Pedra”, as he is known, was once again over the limit, even with the tolerance, and will now have an hour to lose approximately 400g. This is the fourth time that Lineker, who is going into his eighth UFC fight, has missed weight.

Champion of the third edition of the reality show The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Warlley alves traditionally presents himself with a slingshot for his weigh-ins. Generally used only for aesthetic purposes, this time the article served to intimidate his opponent Alan Jouban. Home athlete, Hannibal uses a towel to make weight
The only athlete from Uberlândia on the card, the welterweight Claudius Hannibal had difficulty making weight. The Minas Gerais native was almost half a kilo above the category limit, considering the tolerance of one pound for fights not valid for the belt, but managed to weigh in at 77,5 kg after taking off his shorts and using a towel to weigh himself naked. More relieved after fulfilling his weight commitment, Cláudio celebrated with the public in the gym.
Weather heats up between Brenneman and Buscapé
In the third fight of the night, Brazilian Charlie Brenneman and Brazilian Leandro Buscapé had the most tense confrontation of the event. After calmly passing the scale, Brenneman and Buscapé put their faces together and exchanged pushes, but were quickly restrained by the matchmakers of UFC Joe Silva – who followed the fight closely.
