With just over a week to go until UFC Uberlândia takes place, Mauritius Shogun discovered that his opponent in the main fight of the attraction had changed: the striker Jimi Manuwa left, injured, and the grappler Ovince St Preux. However, the Brazilian is not worried about his opponent changing at short notice, as he considers himself ready for any type of fight.

Even though he has done most of his training with a view to confronting a striker, Shogun is confident that he will be able to nullify the North American's strategy. “He always tries to go to the ground and pound, but I trained for all situations. He might try to tie me up, hold me down, but I trained that with my team. We have several great fighters at the gym, and I had a sparring partner who fought exactly like St. Preux.”, said Shogun, in a press conference reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Shogun believes that St. Preux is in the same situation as him, since, since being scheduled to fight in Uberlândia, the North American has seen his opponent change several times. “I don't believe anyone will have an advantage on Saturday because of these changes in opponents, as he also changed his opponent twice. I had a week to adapt,” he commented.

UFC Uberlândia, also called UFC Fight Night 56, will be held this Saturday night (8).
