After making police headlines in August for attacking his ex-girlfriend, pornographic film actress Christy Mack, fighter War Machine returned to the police spotlight. He attempted suicide inside the prison of Clark County, Las Vegas, where he has been held since being captured by local authorities for the assault. The North American gossip website TMZ was the first to report the fact late Thursday night.

Last Tuesday (14), during a routine inspection, a police officer found the fighter sitting on the floor of his cell with his feet on the bed. According to the official report, Jon Koppenhaver, real name War Machine, had a piece of sheet tied around his neck and one of the legs of the bed.

After identifying that the fighter was unconscious, the police officer opened the cell and, with the help of other colleagues, began the resuscitation process until War Machine could breathe again. According to the report, 15 minutes after the work began, Koppenhaver's vital signs were completely stabilized.
After the incident, War Machine was transferred to a medical isolation cell, where he is under observation so as not to try to kill himself again. Officers also found a suicide note written by War Machine inside his cell.

Former UFC and Bellator fighter, War Machine has been in prison since August 15th and is awaiting trial on 32 charges, including attempted murder, against Christy Mack and his friend Corey Thomas.
