Anderson Silva knows well the characteristics of Chris Weidman e Vitor belfort, who will soon fight for the UFC middleweight belt. Against the North American, “Spider” suffered his only two defeats in the octagon, while, against his compatriot, he scored one of the most memorable knockouts of his long and successful career.

In a press conference held in Rio de Janeiro, this Tuesday (14), Anderson was political when evaluating the fighters' performance, but assured that his fans will be focused on Belfort's victory. According to him, his main desire is to see the middleweight belt return to the hands of a Brazilian fighter.

“My personal opinion about Vitor is the following: of all the athletes in the category, he is the most complete. More explosive, he has the best boxing, he has good jiu-jitsu, good wrestling. Weidman is a new athlete, from a new generation, and he is on fire. It's going to be a fight that everyone wants to see, and my energy goes towards Vitor winning, that's obvious. When I had the title, I never said the title was mine. The title was ours, and, once inside Brazil, it was right. And I’m going to root for Vitor to win, without demagoguery or anything”, commented Anderson.

The fight between Weidman and Belfort was originally scheduled for December 6th, at UFC 181. However, the fight was postponed so that the American could repair an old injury to his hand. The new date has not yet been made official by the UFC.
