Garbrandt's new victim, Kelleher had the warning signal turned on. The stumble marked the North American's fourth defeat in six fights in Ultimate.

The return of the 'old' Cody Garbrandt

The former bantamweight champion took the initiative in the confrontation, combining jabs, straight shots and low kicks. Kelleher saved his attacks and tried to find the distance to take his opponent to the ground. After almost two minutes, Brian managed to get closer and started to press Cody against the bars. Garbrandt defended the takedown and prevented his opponent from advancing. Halfway through the stage, Cody managed to pull away and the challenge was once again contested in the center of the octagon. Almost in the final minute, Cody forced Brian to walk back after a series of jabs and rights. After Kelleher's response, Garbrandt landed a clean right on Brian's chin, which immediately collapsed. Noticing Kelleher's condition, the referee stopped the confrontation.
