Aware of the intentions of aljamain sterling move to the featherweight division (up to 65,7kg.) and face Max Holloway right away, Alexander Volkanovsky already has its position regarding the eventual scenario. Current champion of the category, the Australian did not hesitate when nailing the position of 'Funk Master' as the next challenger for the title should the fighter defeat the Hawaiian in an eventual duel.

“He’s a good fighter, I can see what he’s doing. (If) he beats Max, he's next (for the title fight), it's that simple. He knows this, and good for him, he's game. I'm sure he knows it's a difficult fight, but I'm sure he looks at it like, 'This is how I get to the title,' and I respect that,” said Volkanovski in an interview on 'The MMA Hour'.

Despite Sterling's intentions, the athlete still does not have a positive endorsement from Max Holloway to carry out the confrontation. After respectfully challenging the Hawaiian on social media, 'Funk Master' continues to hope to receive some response from the former featherweight champion.
