O UFC may be planning a major event in Brazil in 2024, with the presence of two Brazilian champions. According to coach Marcos Parrumpinha, from American Top Team, the organization intends to hold a numbered card in Rio de Janeiro, on May 4th, with possible main fights between Alex Poatán e Alexandre pantoja.
Parrumpinha revealed the information in an interview with the “MMA Hoje” podcast, where he stated that UFC Rio would be a perfect opportunity for the two athletes to defend their belts at home. Poatan won the light heavyweight title in November, knocking out Jiri Prochazka, and Pantoja will make his first defense of the flyweight belt on December 16th, against Brandon royval.

Ultimate has not yet officially confirmed an event in Rio de Janeiro in 2024, but has held two events in Brazil in 2023.
In January, the UFC 283 had Glover Teixeira x Jamahal hill e Deiveson Figueiredo x Brandon Moreno in the main fights, and in November, the UFC Sao Paulo arrived with Jailton Malhadinho x Derrick Lewis in the most anticipated duel of the night.
