Jailton Malhadinho makes it look easy and beats Derrick Lewis with 'ride' at UFC São Paulo

Brazilian defeats rival for five rounds, maintains unbeaten record in Ultimate and advances in heavyweight

The fight started with Malhadinho taking the initiative with a front kick. Afterwards, the Bahian threw a high kick and subsequently managed a takedown. In the second round, Malhadinho managed the distance and avoided a straight fight with Lewis. The Brazilian was waiting for the best moment to attack. After a straight shot from Derrick, Jailton dodged and got an immediate takedown on the American. On top, Malhadinho once again looked for transitions to try to finish. Derrick tried to resist the actions of the Bahian, who gave no rest. Jailton was patient and didn't get flustered, even with a clear advantage over his opponent. Aware of the risks of facing Lewis, the Bahian adopted caution in the clash. In the final minute, Malhadinho tried to choke him, but the American continued to show resistance. In the last round, Lewis launched the first attack, with a direct attack. The veteran forced the Bahian to walk backwards. Jailton dodged an uppercut from his rival and attempted a takedown. This time, Derrick defended well and the fight continued on the feet. After insistence, Malhadinho managed the takedown. With two minutes gone, the Brazilian managed the result and continued to nullify the North American. In the final minute, Lewis managed to 'explode' and stay on his feet. Again, Jailton took down easily in the sequence. In the final seconds, Derrick got to his feet, but there was no more time.
