Brazilian promise in MMA, Gabriel Bonfim, 'Marretinha' suffered the first defeat of his career. Inserted in the co-main fight of the UFC Sao Paulo, held this Saturday (4), the welterweight representative (up to 77,1kg.), accepted the open fight against Nicholas Dalby and ended up paying the price. After a mind-boggling confrontation, the Tupiniquim succumbed to the veteran's aggression and was defeated by knockout in the second round.
With the defeat, Marretinha suffered his first setback since his debut in mixed martial arts. Before facing Nicolas, the Brazilian accumulated 15 positive results in a row and accumulated shows in his two UFC appearances.

The price of entertainment
The confrontation began with the fighters engaging in frank exchanges in the opening seconds. The challenge was violent, with both looking for the knockout. With a minute gone, Dalby closed the distance and went into a grappling fight. Marretinha managed to free himself from his opponent and continued to focus on striking. Halfway through the round, Gabriel managed a takedown and started looking for transitions for a submission. Nicolas tried to stop the fight, but the Brazilian, in an advantageous position, didn't give him space. In the final seconds, Marretinha began to punish his opponent with ground and pound, hurting his rival with elbows from top to bottom, but the timer ran to zero.
In the second round, Marretinha managed a takedown at the beginning of the stage. The fighter came close to finishing, but ran into his opponent's resistance. Even with the Brazilian having a clear advantage, Nicolas was surprising with his resistance. In the final stretch, Dalby managed to stay on his feet and started to press Marretinha against the bars. With two minutes left in the round, Nicolas began to punish the Brazilian with combinations of knees and crosses. Gabriel accused the attacks and just protected his face. In the final seconds, Marretinha showed signs of tiredness and was the victim of his opponent's attacks. At the end of the stage, the Tupiniquim succumbed after a knee to the face. The Brazilian went to the canvas and, after a series of attacks from Dalby, the referee stopped the fight.
