Considered by many to be one of the greatest fighters in MMA of all time, Anderson Silva surprised by revealing who, in his opinion, is the best in the history of the sport.

In an interview with the Ticaracaticast podcast, the Brazilian chose B.J. Penn, former lightweight and welterweight champion, as his favorite in the dispute for the position of GOAT (English acronym for Best in History).

"B.J. Penn. I think, the B.J. Penn, was the best fighter the UFC ever had. In my opinion, of course,” said Anderson, ignoring names like Demetrious Johnson, Fedor Emelianenko, Georges St-Pierre, Jon Jones, Khabib Nurmagomedov, among others that usually appear on the lists of fans and experts.

Anderson Silva e B.J. Penn never faced each other in the Octagon, but both built memorable careers in the Octagon. UFC, winning titles, knockouts, submissions and awards. Currently, Spider is focused on promoting his series, Anderson Spider Silva, available on Paramount+.
