The UFC calendar for Brazil in 2014 is officially closed. The event on December 20th, which had already been announced for Brazil, but had not yet been decided on, will take place in the city of Barueri, in Greater São Paulo. The information was released by the general director of Ultimate in the country Grace Tourinho, during a press conference this Saturday (13), in Brasília.
According to the director, the event will take place at the José Corrêa gym, which already hosted an edition of the biggest MMA event on the planet in October 2013. Still according to Grace, there is still no fight confirmed for the card. The event in Barueri will be the last of the year for the UFC. The organization returns just two weeks later, on January 3, 2015, with UFC 182, which will feature Jon Jones x Daniel Cormier as the main fight.
The second edition of UFC Barueri ends a year whose schedule equaled the organization's historic record in the country, with a total of seven events, repeating the number from 2013. In addition to the card in Greater São Paulo, there were also fight nights in Jaraguá do Sul (SC), Natal (RN), São Paulo (SP) and Brasília (DF). Additionally, events are scheduled for Rio de Janeiro (RJ) in October and Uberlândia (MG) in November.
