What began as a scene worthy of the biggest events in pro wrestling (telecatch) of the planet, ended up ending in confusion in the cage of Bellator, last Friday (05). After a very theatrical presentation to announce the fight between Tito Ortiz e Stephan bonnar, the former UFC champion pushed the TUF 1 finalist and newly hired by the organization, starting widespread confusion.
After the end of the fight between King mo Lawal and dustin jacoby at UFC 123, president Scott Coker welcomed Bonnar and Ortiz to the center of the cage to announce that the pair would face each other on November 15th, in the main fight of Bellator 131. After the announcement, the “American Psycho”, who was accompanied by a bizarre masked man, took the microphone and fired at his rival.
“They all say the same thing, that he (Tito) is the most selfish, full of himself, arrogant piece of shit they have ever met. The only thing bigger than his head is his inflated ego,” said Bonnar, revealing that the masked man was Justin McCully, Ortiz’s former coach and now disaffected. “All I have to say to you is, 'Poor Jenna (Jameson, porn actress and Tito's ex-wife). I don’t know how she put up with you all these years”, he added.
The “Huntington Beach Bad Boy” did not let it go and responded in kind. “You can say whatever you want. But when you talk about my family, when you talk about my fans and my friends, then it becomes personal”, said Ortiz, pushing his next opponent right after. The confusion was soon controlled by those present and the athletes left the cage exchanging attacks and insults.
