Criticized by training companions, Alistair Overeem says: 'It's pathetic'

Dutch criticized the behavior of former colleagues who accuse him of working too hard during training

Recently, alistair overeem was the target of criticism from some former training partners for allegedly going too hard during sparring sessions. The matter gained notoriety after UFC light heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, having been injured while training with the Dutchman. However, Overeem defended himself and stated that the accusations made by his former colleagues are “pathetic”.

“I see this as a deliberate attempt by certain people to speak badly of me. Right now I think it's pathetic, because if I have a problem with you, believe me, you'll know about it. I will come to you and talk about your behavior. I'm not going to talk to the press behind your back. I'm not like that. I’m very direct, but that’s not how some people are”, commented the Dutchman, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

Overeem returns to the UFC Octagon this Friday (5), when he faces Ben Rothwell at UFC Fight Night 50.
