Exactly three years ago, the world of UFC said goodbye to one of the sport’s greatest legends: Anderson Silva. The Brazilian, who dominated the UFC middleweight category (up to 83,9kg) for almost seven years, made his last appearance in the octagon against Uriah Hall, on October 31, 2020, at UFC Vegas 12.
On that occasion, the Spider was defeated by technical knockout in the fourth round, after being knocked down by a straight left from the Jamaican.

The fight marked the end of an era for the Brazilian, who at the age of 45 decided to hang up his gloves and retire from MMA. End of Anderson Silva's reign
Silva's reign ended in 2013 when he was knocked out by Chris Weidman, in one of the biggest upsets in the history of the sport. In the rematch, the Brazilian suffered a fracture in his left leg when he kicked his opponent, leaving him out for more than a year. He returned in 2015, but was caught doping after winning Nick Diaz. The fight was canceled and the icon was suspended for a year; he turned against Michael Bisping and lost on points.
In 2017, Anderson won again in the UFC, defeating Derek Brunson by unanimous decision. He returned in 2019 but lost to Israel adesanya e Jared Cannonier.
Despite the defeats and controversies, Anderson Silva He is considered by many to be the greatest MMA fighter of all time. He entered the UFC Hall of Fame in 2023, being honored for his trajectory and contribution to the sport.
