Despite being a card in pay-per-view, in which Ultimate concentrates its main fights, and being headlined by a title fight, UFC Rio 5, which takes place on October 25th, will have tickets up to 30% cheaper than the UFC Brasilia, an event from the “Fight Night” series held in the federal capital on September 13th. Despite the price reduction for the cheapest tickets, which correspond to the grandstand sector, the general average price can still be classified as “FIFA Standard”, as it exceeds in certain points the values practiced during the World Cup in Brazil.

In the comparison between Rio and Brasília, the cheapest ticket for the Rio event costs R$ 190 while the same sector for the Federal District is sold for R$ 270. In both cases, half-price beneficiaries can purchase tickets for 50 % of value. If the parameter is the World Cup, held between June and July this year, the difference is even greater. A ticket for the cheapest sector, whether for games at Maracanã (DF) or Mané Garrincha (DF), was sold at R$60 for a group stage game. Even in the most acute phases, such as the quarter-finals, tickets to the stadiums were sold for R$170 in the category reserved for the Brazilian public.

The most expensive sector has a higher price in Rio

If the fan watching UFC Rio 5 in the stands will pay less than the spectator in Brasília, the situation is reversed when it comes to the most expensive sector, called “Octógono Premium”. In the federal capital, on the night of fights led by Antonio Pezão e Andrei Arlovski, tickets are sold for R$990 and R$1000 (the latter entitles you to a buffet and exclusive services). In Rio de Janeiro, on the card led by the featherweight belt dispute between José Aldo e Chad Mendes, ticket prices reach R$1600.

Once again, in the case of Rio, the amounts are close to those paid by fans who attended the World Cup. The capital of Rio de Janeiro hosted seven games of the tournament and in only one of them, the grand final, tickets for Sector 1, the most expensive, are more expensive in the World Cup. In most games, group stage and round of 2,5 or quarter-finals, the price of tickets for the UFC varied from 5 to 13 times more than for the football competition. In the final, played between Germany and Argentina on July 1980th, the price was R$25, around XNUMX% higher than on the night of fights.
