To get closer to the champion, the Brazilian expressed his desire to face his great idol in the organization, Max Holloway. According to the Friborg native, the North American style pleases him.
“I have a guy who I'm a fan of, a big fan: Max Holloway. I'm a big fan. He's one of my favorite fighters. Tell him. I think in the last fight we were on the same card I told him: 'you're the guy I like watching the most'. I love watching their fights. A fight against him would be a great show, a great opportunity for me and it would be a great fight”, said Edson in an interview with 'The MMA Road Show'.

Despite his desire, Edson claims to know that there are other fighters ahead of him and that they could become his opponents in the future.
“Of course, I know there are other fighters in front of me. Josh Emmett, Calvin kattar, some fighters. I fight anyone. Whoever the UFC puts in front of me, I'll be ready. I hope it’s someone ahead of me in the rankings,” he concluded.
