After seeing his victory against Tyron woodley being “demoted” from eliminatory status to a title fight, Rory McDonald he already knows who he will face in his next fight. He is the last champion of the extinct Strikeforce Tarec saffiedine. The duel between MacDonald and Saffiedine was confirmed as the main fight of UFC Fight Night 54, which takes place on October 4, in Halifax (Canada).

At 25, Rory McDonald has a professional record of 17 wins and two losses. The Canadian, who currently occupies second place in the welterweight rankings, will have his second fight at home in a row. Already Tarec saffiedine, 27 years old, has a record of 15 wins and three losses. The Belgian is on a five-fight winning streak, the most recent of which came in his UFC debut against South Korean Hyun Gyu Lim.

UFC Fight Night: MacDonald x Saffiedine is part of the agenda for another double-round Saturday in Ultimate. On the same October 4th, but before the Canadian event, UFC Fight Night 53 takes place in the Swedish capital Stockholm. Unlike its successor on the schedule, the card in Sweden still has no official fight announced.
