Alex Poatán, former middleweight champion (up to 83,9kg.) of the UFC, took advantage of his free time to teach jiu-jitsu to his children. In a live broadcast on his Instagram, the Brazilian showed some basic techniques and tips on how to escape difficult situations in gentle art for his children. The video moment had more than 1,5 viewers.

Poatan, who recently received brown belt of jiu-jitsu from his master Plinio Cruz, demonstrated that he has been practicing his skills on the ground. He taught his sons how to do a closed guard, a sweep, a guard pass and a submission.

Alex Poatan's next UFC fight

An impressive trajectory in the UFC led the Brazilian Alex Poatán to the top of the middleweight category. In his debut for the organization, in 2021, he knocked out Andreas Michailidis in the first round. Afterwards, the São Paulo native had his arms raised against Bruno Blindado e Sean Strickland.

In the fourth fight, Poatan faced the then champion Israel adesanya and surprised him with a knockout in the fourth round, winning the belt. However, the Brazilian's glory was short-lived. Stylebender didn't give him a chance and knocked him out in the second round, regaining the title and inflicting the fighter's first defeat in the UFC.

It was a hard blow for Poatan, who saw his dream of becoming champion disappear in just a few minutes. Now, he will have to get back on his feet and look for a new chance to fight for the belt, which should happen in front of Jiri Prochazka for the light heavyweight belt (up to 93kg.).
