Featherweight champion, Captain is injured and is out of fight with Moicano at Jungle Fight 71

the card of Jungle Fight 71, which will be held in São Paulo (SP), on July 19th, underwent an important last-minute change. Alexandre Capitão, who would make his first defense of the organization's featherweight belt, suffered an injury and is out of the fight he would have against Renato Moicano. In its place, the Jungle climbed Ismael Marreta, in a fight that will be worth the interim belt in the category.

Captain suffered an arm injury earlier this week, during takedown defense training at his gym, in Manaus (AM). “At the same time, I ran to get some ice and took some medicine, but the pain didn’t go away. I decided to go to the hospital, had an x-ray and the doctor thought it would be best to immobilize. I'm going to do an MRI to find out the severity of the injury. I hope it's nothing serious and I can come back soon. I can't stand not fighting anymore”, said the fighter, who won the belt in December last year, with a victory over Rafael Miranda.

Marreta, Moicano's new opponent, was already on the card for Jungle Fight 71, as he would face Fabiano Jacarezinho. At just 18 years old, Acelino Popó's pupil has a record of six wins and two defeats.

O Jungle Fight 71 will be held at the Canindé gymnasium, on July 19th, starting at 20:30 pm Brasília time.
