After defeat to Holloway, Korean Zombie reveals reasons for decision to retire

The former challenger regretted that he is unable to beat the main athletes in the category and said he would rather hang up his gloves than remain 'in the middle of the table'

After more than 15 years of professional MMA career, Korean zombie announced his retirement in the Octagon UFC Singapore. At the microphone of the now commentator Michael Bisping, the featherweight veteran explained the reasons that led him to decide to hang up his gloves.

“You know what, I’m going to stop fighting. I always wanted to be the champion since I started this sport. I'm not here to be third, fourth or fifth in the rankings. I did my best to prepare for Max Holloway, I really believed I could beat him, but I ended up failing, so, I don't think I have any more chances. So, I think I’ll stop fighting now”, said Zumbi.

A0s 36 years old, Zumbi announced his retirement from the sport while still in the octagon, after being brutally knocked out by Max Holloway. Former division challenger, the South Korean hangs up his gloves with a record of 17 positive results and eight negative results in just over 15 years of career.
