The physical form of the heavyweight Roy Nelson, popularly known as “Gordinho”, makes the North American one of the most recognized athletes on the UFC roster. Traveling to Japan to promote his duel against Mark Hunt in September, Nelson invested his characteristic silhouette in sumo training together with the Japanese sumo team.
The meeting between Nelson and the Japanese sumo team was recorded by the UFC Brasil profile on Instagram. "Roy Nelson is preparing for UFC Fight Night Japan. Training with the Japanese sumo team. #UFCJapão”, published the organization on its Brazilian account on the social network.
At 38, Roy Nelson has a record of 20 wins and nine losses. Champion of the tenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, currently occupies ninth position in the official Ultimate rankings and is coming off a victory with a spectacular knockout over the Brazilian Rodrigo Minotauro. On September 20th, at the Saitama Super Arena, Roy Nelson does against Mark Hunt the main fight of UFC Japan 2014.
