About to make his WSOF debut, which takes place in July, former UFC fighter Melvin Guillard had a big scare this Wednesday (11), together with his wife. On your official profile on Instagram, Guillard released a message commenting on a car accident in which he was involved and emerged unharmed. The luck of the athlete and his spouse can be seen in the images of the completely destroyed vehicle, released by Melvin himself.
“We are so lucky to be alive today. Deu was watching over both of us yesterday! It definitely caught my attention,” Guillard wrote, along with two photos of the accident. According to information from WSOF vice-president Ali Abdelaziz, on the website “MMA Junkie”, the collision happened while the fighter and his wife were returning from dinner and the couple is doing well.
At 31 years old, Melvin Guillard has a record of 31 wins, 13 losses, two draws and three fights without results. “The Young Assassin”, as he is known, was fired by Ultimate last March, after a defeat to Michael Johnson. As soon as he was released by the UFC, Guillard was hired by World Series of Fighting and debuts in the new organization on July 5th, against Brazilian Gesias Cavalcante, at WSOF 11.
