Henderson takes first place at lightweight after victory over Khabilov

In the bantamweight category, Caraway makes a big leap and reaches the top 10; in the middleweights, Muñoz leaves the list

In the main fight of UFC Fight Night 42, held last Saturday (7), Benson Henderson won again in resounding fashion. The former lightweight champion submitted Rustam Khabilov with a rear naked choke, earning his first victory in the UFC without needing a decision from the judges. This performance made Henderson take the lead in the official UFC lightweight rankings.

Henderson surpassed Gilbert Melendez in the update made this Monday, knocking “El Niño” to second place. Khabilov, on the other hand, did not have his position changed with the defeat, remaining in 11th. The same can be said of Rafael dos Anjos, who remains in fifth even after beating Jason High by technical knockout.

In the rooster category, Bryan caraway gained four positions following his submission victory against Erik Perez. The boyfriend of Miesha Tate he now ranks tenth in the division rankings, while Perez fell to 14th.

Another change already foreseen took place in the middleweight category. Mark Muñoz, formerly ninth on the list, was removed from the ranking, as he is currently without a contract with the UFC. This caused all the fighters below to gain a position, opening space for Thales leites became part of the list, in 15th.
