The second pass of Kevin Lee for the UFC was ephemeral. Just over a week after making his debut in the organization, being brutally finished by Rinat Fakhretdinov, the North American announced his retirement through a post on a social network.
“I'm going to retire from the UFC, but I can't find the right words to use in the video. There is more to life than fighting,” Lee posted.

Kevin Lee He arrived at the UFC for the first time at the beginning of 2014 and was quickly seen as one of the main promises in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg). After accumulating ten victories in 11 fights, the North American fought for the interim lightweight belt against his compatriot Tony Ferguson, but ended up finished in the third round of the dispute.
The defeat for Tony Ferguson began a bad phase of Kevin Lee, who left Ultimate after suffering four setbacks in the six fights following the interim belt fight.
In 2021, Kevin Lee couldn't resist the terrible phase and ended up being released by the UFC, but, after just one fight outside the organization, when he beat the veteran Diego Sanchez Playing for Eagle FC, in 2022, he received another chance in Ultimate.
The return to the octagon, however, was traumatic for Kevin Lee. On UFC Las Vegas 76, held on July 1st, the 'Motown Phenomenon' ended up being brutally ended by Rinat Fakhretdinov in just 55 seconds, erasing a guillotine from the Russian.
Kevin Lee says goodbye to professional MMA at the age of 30 with a record of 19 wins and eight losses.
