After yet another impressive showing at Bellator 290, when he dominated and overcame Anatoly Tokov to defend his middleweight (under 83,9kg) title for the first time, Johnny Eblen feels ready to beat any name in the division, especially the UFC champion Alex Poatán.

During his appearance on the “MMA Hour” podcast, the undefeated North American assured Canadian journalist Ariel Helwani that, if he fought ten times against Alex Poatán, would win the ten, and classified the possible duel as a “disaster” for the Brazilian.

“I think I would beat him. Out of ten fights against him, I would win all ten. I'm too much for the car. I'm a disastrous marriage of styles for him. It's a great marriage of styles for me. I have a lot of energy, I can hit hard, I can take a punch and I mix striking and wrestling very well. I don't see him beating me. There's no way. The level of my wrestling skill cannot be compared, especially with the time he has in MMA. There is no way to. He's too old. He would have to have started wrestling ten years ago. I'm a terrible match for him and I think I beat him in ten out of ten fights. I think I can beat anyone on the planet. I'm one of the best, if not the best middleweight on the planet. I can't say for sure, because I haven't faced them all, but I think I match up very well with any middleweight in the world and I think I can win any fight,” said Eblen.

Johnny Eblen became middleweight champion by dominating then-champion Gegard Mousasi in June last year. The American from American Top Team is undefeated in professional MMA, with 13 victories, nine of them in Bellator's circular cage.
