One year after being fired from the UFC, Kevin Lee used his social networks to provoke Khamzat Shimaev. The fighter, who came from grappling, stated that he never lost the first round in all his fights and that Chimaev would not be able to impose his game.

“I'm the next one to fight Chimaev. His grappling won't work on me and I've never lost a first round”, said the athlete.

Then, Lee made another comment, this time claiming that it is not necessary to act as if everyone is afraid of facing the Swede.

“All I’m saying is I’m willing. Don’t act like everyone has to fear the guy (Chimaev)”, concluded the former UFC fighter.

An MMA veteran, Kevin spent seven years in Ultimate and even competed for the interim lightweight belt against Tony Ferguson, being submitted on that occasion. Before being fired, Lee had six more fights and won only two.

After the episode, the North American was hired by Khabib Nurmagomedov, to fight for Eagle FC. In March, on his debut, Lee won Diego Sanchezby unanimous decision.
