Multi-time jiu-jitsu world champion, Luiza Monteiro was sincere when dealing with a controversial subject. Featured in the 'gentle art', the fighter analyzed the attitude of athletes who choose to work on adult content websites. In an interview with 'ConnectCast', the fighter, who does not use the platform, vented about the subject.

“Nowadays, the more media you have, the more you will earn. In my time, it was the opposite. You respected and were friends with your opponent and, nowadays, even more controversial, you even need to dress up as a character to make money. For me, it takes the focus away from the martial art. (…) If I have to get rich from this, I’ll stay poor,” she stated.

Dealing specifically with the adult content platform, Monteiro revealed that he respected each person's decision. The athlete, however, gave her opinion about the work.

“When it’s the jiu-jitsu girls, I get a little sad. It took so long for us to gain respect on the mat. We were so excluded, we suffered abuse. It was common for the guy to think that the woman was there because she wanted to be with the person. She had a lot more men. Until you conquer your space and be respected. I worked so hard to get good jiu-jitsu so that when people see me, they say: 'it's great to see her fight'. (…) Then, we reach that point, where we start to receive like the guys and, then, we take all this, we open the 'OnlyFans' and post a photo. It's a jiu-jitsu audience. (…) I also think about my father. He would be disappointed. I respect whoever does it. I want to continue my legacy. My legacy is to make the path easier for girls who are coming (to jiu-jitsu). So I don't suffer abuse. I will remain a feminist. May I be poor, but this is the legacy I will carry”, he concluded.
