The serious shoulder injury resulted in Jiri Prochazka the loss of the light heavyweight title (up to 93kg.) on the eve of the UFC 282 continues to give something to talk about. After speaking publicly about the incident, the Czech set a date for his return to competition. The fighter will need surgery to correct the injury.

“I'm going after the UFC belt as soon as the doctors give me the 'green light' to compete. I will dispute the title, regardless of who is in possession of it. It has always been my priority to deliver the best performance at my highest level. (…) I’ll be back in six months”, wrote the athlete, in his profile on Instagram.

On December 10, Prochazka would seek his first title defense. On this occasion, the athlete would measure strength with Glover Teixeira, in a rematch for the light heavyweight throne.

With Jiri out of the UFC 282, Ultimate offered an alternative to the Brazilian. The organization suggested that the miner face Magomed Ankalayev, but the Tupiniquim understood that he would not have enough time to create a new strategy in the eventual clash against the Russian.

Without Glover and Prochazka, the company opted for 'Plan C'. Finally, Jan Blachowicz will face Ankalaev for the vacant light heavyweight belt.
