Lightweight number two, Dustin Poirier reveals who he would like to face in his next fight: 'It makes a lot of sense'

The former interim champion suggested the name of Beneil Dariush for his next fight in the company and said he will evaluate the situation with the UFC

Number two in the lightweight division (up to 70,3kg), Dustin poirier You already have in mind the name of the next opponent you would like to face in Ultimate. The former interim champion of the category asked for a duel against fourth place Beneil Dariush and said that it is a fight that 'makes a lot of sense'. The statement was given at the press conference after the UFC 281, which took place last Saturday (12).

“This is one that makes a lot of sense. Beneil (Dariush) won his fights and guarded some tough guys, and looked great doing it. Let's see, I'm not against it. Ultimately, it depends on the UFC and my time frame, when I want to return. That’s what it comes down to,” Poirier said.

Second place in the classification, behind only Charles of the Bronx and the champion Islam makhachev, Dustin has remained one of the best fighters in the 70,3kg division in recent years. In his last six fights, 'Diamante' was defeated only twice, and both in title fights, to Khabib Nurmagomedov and for 'Charlinho'. The North American has a record in the sport of 29 triumphs and seven setbacks.
