Former UFC lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez 'snakes' trilogy against Michael Chandler

The North American veteran, currently free on the market, didn't act like he was asked and took to social media to ask for a new duel against 'Iron Mike'

Former UFC lightweight champion (up to 70,3kg), Eddie Alvarez showed interest in starring in a new fight with Michael chandler. After the 'Iron Mike' duel with Dustin poirier No. UFC 281, the former Bellator and ONE Championship fighter spoke out on Twitter and challenged his former rival to a third fight. The two fighters have already faced each other twice, with one victory for each side.

“Hey brother @MikeChandlerMMA, I think it's time for round three. Rest easy champion and then give these fans what they want,” wrote Alvarez.

Chandler and Alvarez have already faced each other on two occasions, on that occasion, for the Bellator lightweight belt. In the first fight, 'Mike' won the title by achieving a submission in the fourth round. In the second duel, 'The Underground' emerged victorious in a tight split decision from the judges. The two fights are still remembered by MMA fans for the 'war' waged by the two protagonists.

Eddie Alvarez is currently free on the market following the end of his contract with ONE Championship. At 38 years old, the American has a record of 30 triumphs and eight setbacks in the sport.
