VIDEO: Alex Poatan is celebrated on his return home after becoming UFC champion

A group at the gym 'Teixeira MMA & Fitness', led by Glover Teixeira, gathered in Danbury, Connecticut (USA), to celebrate the victory of Alex Poatán about Israel adesanya No. UFC 281, event held last Saturday (12). Registration was done on social media.

Amid applause and shouts of 'champion', the new middleweight king (up to 83,9kg) presented his belt alongside Glover Teixeira – who will also compete for the title in edition number 282, in December. Furthermore, Poatan posed for photos and took the opportunity to enjoy the party prepared by his team.

The Brazilian, who arrived at Ultimate as the 'man to beat Israel adesanya' due to his history of victories in kickboxing, he confirmed his status and triumphed by knockout in the last round. He even achieved one of the biggest comebacks of the year, as the fight was heading towards a triumph for the Nigerian on points.

Kickboxing legend, Poatan switched to MMA permanently two years ago and adjusts his game at the gym led by Glover Teixeira. The fighter, to date, has four appearances in Ultimate and has a record of seven wins and one loss in his career. He must have a rematch against the 'Last Stylebender' in his first title defense.
