For the UFC, the Super Bowl (American football final) is a parameter for the organization's first big night of fights each year. For some athletes, it's the chance to follow their favorite team at the biggest sporting event in the United States. In 2014, it was the turn of Miesha Tate, former challenger for the women's bantamweight belt, closely follows the Seattle Seahawks' standings, with their victory over the San Francisco 49ers in the National Conference final.

The presence of Miesha and her incredibly young father at CenturyField Link was recorded by the club's official profile on Twitter and even through the UFC account. Miesha commented on the feeling of seeing the Seattle team in Super Bowl for only the second time in its history. "Oh yes! I knew! Good job boys! Seahawks in the Super Bowl,” Tate wrote on the microblogging network. During the match, the fighter published some images of herself in the stadium and also commented on the incredible noise from the crowd, which reached over 130 decibels in the last games of the regular season – a record in the sport.

To stop Miesha Tate, born in the state of Washington, the Seattle Seahawks' 49-23 victory over the San Francisco 17ers was a cause for celebration for the former champion of the now-defunct WEC Urijah faber it was the end of the chances of seeing his club in the NFL decision for the second consecutive time. A California native and 49ers fan, Faber also used the Twitter to mourn the loss of quarterback Colin Kaepernick's team and project duels against divisional rivals again next season. "Curse! We’ll get them next year,” the “California Kid” wrote.

Those who also saw their team guarantee victory last Sunday (19) were Donald Cerrone. The “Cowboy” received President Dana White, a fan of the New England Patriots, in Denver and together they watched at the Sports Authority Field at Mile High the victory of his team, the Denver Broncos, over the Patriots by 26 to 16. Now, on the day February 2, in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the Broncos and Seahawks face off for the title in the Super Bowl 48. One day before, just over 15 km from the stage of the American football decision, UFC 169 takes place. The event marks the first defense of the bantamweight belt by the Brazilian Renan Barao, which faces Urijah faber, and also features a featherweight title fight between the champion José Aldo and challenger Ricardo Lamas.
