Anderson Silva cites greatness and celebrates 'historic fight' with Jake Paul in boxing

Brazilian believes that confrontation against YouTuber will be the 'biggest event' of the year in the noble art

MMA legend, Anderson Silva spoke out for the first time about the fight against Jake Paul, in combat promoted by 'showtime' to take place on October 29th, in Glendale, Arizona (USA). O 'Spider' has the mission of stopping the YouTuber hype in boxing, he says he is happy with the opportunity and promises that the fight 'will make history' in the sport forever.

“I know that in life everything has its purpose. Nothing comes by chance. So, I thank God for my health, my family and my team for giving me this opportunity to continue doing what I love most. I believe this will be the biggest combat event of the year and will truly make history in the sport forever. See you on October 29th”, declared 'Spider', in an official press release.

Recognized as one of the main names in the history of MMA, Anderson Silva switched to boxing in 2021 and, since then, won his two tests in the sport – against Júlio Cesar Chávez Jr and Tito Ortiz. He has also faced Bruno 'Caveira', in May this year, during an exhibition fight.

Fighting professionally in the noble art since 2020, Jake has fought five times so far and still doesn't know what it's like to lose in a boxing ring. The American has already beaten rapper Ali Eson Gib, former basketball player Nate Robinson, former fighter Ben Askren and the former owner of the UFC welterweight belt (up to 77,1kg). Tyron woodley, the latter on two occasions, with a knockout and a points decision.
