UFC President Dana White declared that he would not like to see the lightweight Donald Cerrone move down a category in the future and start fighting at featherweight.

Cerrone, who submitted Evan dunham at UFC 167, last Saturday, he had declared that he intended to change weight and perform at up to 66 kg in his next fights. However, White stated that he does not see the possibility of the “Cowboy” making the necessary weight cut in minimally healthy conditions.

“I don’t like that idea. I've seen this kid cut weight before and he has horrible cuts to get to 70kg. They can do what they want, but I wouldn't like to see him move to 66 kg”, said the manager. “He can hire Mike Dolce [renowned MMA nutritionist, whose diet is successful in cutting weight] or whoever he wants. But no one will make you reach 66 kg in a healthy way. There’s no way,” he added.

For the president of the event, Cerrone's physical size makes it impossible for him to cut even more weight to fight. “The boy is cracked. He doesn't have an ounce of fat on his body. He struggles to reach 70 kg, so there's no way he would reach 66 kg. Not that he listens to what I say, but I don't want him to do that,” White said emphatically.

A former WEC fighter, Cerrone has a respectable record in the UFC, with eight wins and just three losses.
